You often feel unsure of yourself, grappling with a shaky sense of identity and low self-confidence. This internal struggle makes it difficult for you to form deep, meaningful connections in your relationships, leaving you feeling isolated and misunderstood.
As a couple, you and your partner are seeking to deepen your bond. You’re both committed to each other but feel there’s room to grow in understanding and connecting on a more profound level. You’re looking for ways to strengthen your relationship, seeking a deeper emotional connection and improved communication to enhance your partnership.
As your counselor, I will work with you to build a stronger sense of self and boost your self-confidence. We’ll explore the roots of your identity struggles and address the factors contributing to your feelings of disconnection in relationships. Through our sessions, I’ll help you develop strategies to establish deeper connections with others and strengthen your sense of belonging and self-worth.
For couples, I’ll facilitate a safe space for open and honest communication. We’ll delve into understanding each other’s perspectives, needs, and emotions. I’ll guide you both in developing effective communication skills and emotional understanding, aiming to deepen your bond and enhance the overall health and satisfaction of your relationship. Together, we’ll work towards building a stronger, more resilient partnership.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Gonzaga University. Along with my counseling roles at North Central High School, Catholic Charities, and CAPA, I have directly applied my expertise by co-facilitating a year-long group for women grappling with their husbands’ unwanted pornography use. This experience has enriched my counseling practice, particularly in understanding complex relationship dynamics. My approach is actively shaped by my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I have completed the Externship in EFT and am actively pursuing the Core Skills training, continually deepening my proficiency in this specialized area.
I am a good fit for teens, adults, and couples dealing with a range of issues, from standard challenges like attachment injuries, relational conflict, and disconnection from self, to more specialized areas. My expertise includes addressing betrayal trauma, managing the impacts of unwanted pornography use, and navigating shame in sexuality. I am also skilled in helping clients create secure attachments, fostering healthier and more fulfilling relationships. My diverse experience and training equip me to support a variety of needs effectively.
