Meet Andrea Hainsworth

From the outside you look like the couple who has it all. Together you’ve achieved some great things but behind closed doors things are falling apart. You don’t feel like the partners you long to be, the sex isn’t always great, the kids, work and finances are a lot of pressure. You wonder when you started to grow apart and when you try and talk about it you end up having the same fight over and over again. Things may have even reached a breaking point if you’ve discovered cheating or another breach of trust such as undisclosed pornography use or other forms of betrayal and dishonesty. 

Using Emotionally Focused therapy, I help couples create the relationship they dream of, one where you can truly be yourself and be heard and understood. Whether you want to strengthen an already good marriage or relationship or heal one that has open wounds or ruptures I am passionate about helping you. Whether it’s individual counseling, couples counseling or some therapeutic group work I have the skills to help you heal and create the life you dream of. 

I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment so that we can create the safety necessary to strengthen or heal a relationship. Once you learn to see and hear each other differently you will be able to have these conversations in your day today life. I am the founder and clinical director of Secure Intimacy Marriage & Family Counseling. I graduated with a masters degree in Marriage & Family Counseling from Gonzaga University. I have advanced training (Core Skills) in Emotionally Focused Therapy, the gold standard of couples therapy. I also have training and years of experience working with couples who have experienced relational wounds from infidelity and/or unwanted pornography use. I founded and created Secure Intimacy with the vision of having a place in Spokane where the whole family can receive compassionate care. I am a board member for the Eastern Washington Northern Idaho EFT community (EWNIEFT). I also offer my speaking and presenting skills to churches and other groups throughout Spokane. I am a great fit for: individuals who want to take their life to the next level couples who want to strengthen their relationship or heal from ruptures in the relationship. My current focus is facilitating groups for men who want to overcome unwanted pornography use, infidelity or other forms of compulsive sexual behavior. Facilitating groups for women who have experienced intimate betrayal and betrayal trauma.
